Fly By Night Bat Clinic play a crucial role in the survival of our Australian Grey-Headed Flying Fox Fruit Bats, they work (volunteer) tirelessly to rehabilitate injured and raise orphaned Flying Foxes. We have collaborated in this video to showcase these amazing little pollinators, and explain some of the problems they face. The Grey-Headed Flying Fox is one of Australia’s largest bat species, with a wingspan of up to 1 meter (3.3 feet) and weighing around 300–1000 grams. Native to eastern Australia, they play a crucial role in pollination, particularly of native eucalyptus trees, and seed dispersal across forests. These bats are identified by their distinctive grey head, orange-brown collar, and dark grey body. They are primarily nocturnal, feeding on nectar, pollen, and fruits.
