The first things that stood out to me were the new purple color, the S Pen in black, and the big push on updated security plus what they’re calling a “Gentic AI phone.” The bigger story though is how deep Galaxy AI is getting—stuff like AI integrated at the OS level, Galaxy AI in chats, plus features like Now Brief, Now Nudge, and Galaxy Keep. They also showed an improved Circle to Search that can recognize multiple items, which is the kind of everyday feature that actually changes how you use the phone. On the performance side, they’re running Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, with ray tracing, a larger vapor chamber, and 75% charging in 30 minutes—which is honestly pretty solid. Camera-wise, they’re heavily emphasizing nightography, plus super steady and horizontal locks, 8K video, and built-in LUTs (huge for content creators). They also improved Magic Eraser and added more prompt-based edits, basically turning your phone into a built-in AI image generator. I ended up pre-ordering the S26 Ultra (512GB, black) and the Galaxy Buds Pro 4—got a $50 voucher and a free wireless charger, and the total came out cheaper than an iPhone, which I’m glad about.
