This video is my 1-week-later take on the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra—and it’s also my first time ever daily-driving a Samsung Galaxy phone. I got to attend Samsung Unpacked in San Jose, then I put the S25 Ultra into my real routine coming from a smaller Google Pixel 8. First impressions: it’s a big phone and it was a stretch in my hand at first, but it feels thinner, the bezels are super thin, and the screen is responsive and vibrant. Performance has been solid for me—Snapdragon 8 Elite, 120Hz, and it stayed snappy with all my essential apps installed. The biggest theme here is AI integration. I honestly pressed the AI button more than I expected because it saves steps for quick searches and simple tasks, and I like that Galaxy AI features are clearly listed in settings. I also tested Audio Eraser in windy and noisy spots, and while it’s not new if you’ve used a Pixel, the processing speed impressed me. For creators, the 10-bit HDR and LOG recording updates are a big deal, and I love that you can do a quick color correct right on the phone after recording LOG. I also cover battery life, the S Pen (nice to have, but I barely used it), and shortcomings like limited lens options for 4K 100fps LOG, plus Audio Eraser not working with LOG clips. Overall, I’d recommend the S25 Ultra more if you’re upgrading from a 2-gen-old phone—less so from an S24 Ultra.
