In this video I’m walking you through my entire make + pack + ship workflow for a ~200 candle holiday restock. I start with how I batch my fragrance oils (I line bottles up, swirl them like I’m in chem lab, and label my beakers with Post-its so I have that second check when I’m moving fast). I talk about my typical fragrance load (anywhere from ~8% to just under 10%), why I mainly use CB2 (Cal Soy / Soy Bliss), and how I store fragrance oils in a cool, dark place (my basement stays around 68°F and I keep them in filing cabinets to help prolong shelf life). From there I show my pouring setup: aluminum pitchers, full-silicone spatulas, and my beloved piston funnels (yes, I talk about them like a broken record). I pour CB2 pretty quickly after mixing—this wax sets up fast, which is nice when you’re making a ton of candles because your whole house doesn’t get overwhelmed. I also explain why some scents get made in IGI 606 (a 70/30 parasoy): paraffin can really amp hot throw, but 606 is tougher aesthetically and can form sink holes, so I demonstrate when and how I poke relief holes and why it matters for safety. Finally, I get into packing: grouping Shopify orders by box size, writing thank-you notes (with a different vibe for first-time customers using Shopify Flow), and my “box within a box” strategy with biodegradable packing peanuts to keep damage under 1%. I include branding, free samples that match what the customer already likes, and I’ll even scent the crinkle paper for that full sensory unboxing experience.
