In this live spoken word performance, I’m talking straight to my brothers—colored men, light-skinned, brown-skinned, dark-skinned—from America to the deep parts of Africa. I’m calling you to rise and walk in the king you’re supposed to be, and to let the world see the royalty that’s already infused in your DNA. I’m pushing back on the system and the media narratives that try to enslave your mind, sabotage your dreams, and keep you under. I want you bold as a lion—strong enough that people can feel your roar.
I remind you that you come from a genealogy of kings that ruled nations, born to restore disasters and carry generations. And I say it plain: you are not ugly, you are not a monkey, you are not an ape—you are a beautiful, one-of-a-kind creation made in the image and likeness of God. Even if you feel broken, I’m here to tell you that broken crayon still color. Don’t settle for crumbs—walk in purpose, let your words and actions be a beacon of light, and leave a legacy engraved in hearts and minds.
