About This Video

It’s a wet, rainy mess here today, so I figured I’d unbox something you guys have probably never seen before: a brand-new FPV bind-and-fly company called Droneer (Drronir/Drer… however you want to say it). With everything going on politically and all the ban/regulation talk, it’s honestly kind of crazy to see a new brand step into the market with what looks like a legit lineup—5-inch freestyle, a 7-inch, and even a cinewhoop. I’ll show you what showed up at my door: their X501 freestyle quad, and yes, it’s actually in the box (I was skeptical at first and thought it might be a scam). First impressions: the packaging is unusually high-end for FPV, and the quad design is totally different from the Nazgul/Mark-style stuff. It’s a squashed-X frame with beefy 7mm arms, super thick side plates, injection-molded bumpers, braided motor wire protection, and a DJI O4 setup with venting and a GPS tucked under a protective screen. Inside, it’s running an H7 flight controller and BLHeli_32 ESCs rated 2–8S, plus a USB-C extension to the front for easy Betaflight access. I do call out one thing I don’t love: the “void” stickers over bolts, which feels like they don’t want you opening it up—kind of against what this hobby is about. But overall, it looks bomber-tough and well thought out. I’ll get it in the air on the channel soon so we can see if it really rips and how it handles my crashes.
