About This Video

Guys, in this video I’m checking out a ready-to-fly micro scale RC helicopter: the RC Era BO-105 (also called the C186S). I unbox everything that comes in the kit, show you the transmitter and the features, and then we do real flights indoors and outside. It’s a 1/48th scale military-style heli with a four-blade head, T-tail, LEDs, a brushed main motor, and an optical flow/IR sensor underneath to help it hold a hover. I walk through the setup (you’ll need four AA’s for the transmitter), and I show the two included 1S 350mAh lithium-ion packs with their little charge indicator and USB charging cable. In the air, I test the three rate modes (low/medium/high), yaw performance, and the auto takeoff/auto landing buttons. Indoors it’s super stable even on a surface that isn’t ideal for optical flow, and outside I bump the rates up to deal with a little wind—just don’t expect it to handle a lot. I also talk about using it as a “simulated FPV” trainer by walking behind it, and we finish with some sketchy low-battery landings and a lot of laughs.
