About This Video

If you’re doing any kind of off-grid training, “SHTF” planning, or you’re the guy always at the range with your buddies, this is the most important message I can put out this year: 99% of people are missing the most valuable tool that probably isn’t in their kit right now—an FPV drone. On the ground, your situational awareness is basically your line of sight. In my example, I can’t see past the tree line, so I’m blind to what’s happening outside that little bubble unless I’m constantly scanning. With an FPV drone, I can pop up above the trees, see miles around me, do recon, and assess what’s actually going on. I also explain why I don’t recommend relying on DJI drones for this role. DJI is proprietary, hard to repair, and those “smart batteries” are some of the worst you could stash long-term—time is an enemy, and I’ve personally had DJI batteries go dead with no voltage after years sitting around. With FPV, you can fix your own gear: swap motors, replace frame parts, solder in the field, and even protect electronics with conformal coating for moisture resistance. My take is simple: food, water, shelter, rifle, FPV drone. Train with it, learn basic repairs, keep spare parts, and you’ll be a huge asset to your group.
