About This Video

A weird plain brown box showed up at my front door, and yeah… that always raises suspicions at home. But inside was something I honestly didn’t expect to like as much as I did: the AstroRC Shuttle V2. AstroRC is a newer brand with a few designs out now, and this one is a straight-up “different animal” compared to the usual stuff I review. It’s got an over/under motor layout (front motors up, rear motors down), a side-mounted VTX, and a trapdoor on top so you can actually get to the USB-C port on something like the DJI O4 Lite without tearing the quad apart. I took it out for a flight test on a 4S 720mAh pack (XT30), and it came in at 249.6g with the battery—just under 250g. On the bench I break down the build: F405 FC, 40A ESCs, 1404 3850KV RCN Power motors, 4mm arms, and a grommet-staged camera/VTX platform that reminds me of some of the old-school “weird but cool” FPV days. The big surprise is it doesn’t just look cool—it flies amazing. It’s fast, feels locked in for flips/rolls/freestyle, and I didn’t see the nasty prop wash I expected from a design like this. Two thumbs up: it’s strange, it’s fun, and yeah… it rips.
