When big world events kick off, public perception shifts fast, and drones end up under a microscope. That’s why I waited a couple days—to process it and lay it out in an order that actually makes sense for the FPV community. I also get into the bigger pressure that’s already been building: FAA/FCC/DOT scrutiny, the foreign drone ban conversations, and the reality that “100% US-made” drones are incredibly hard when modern builds rely on global supply chains. I talk about how parts show up in real-world examples like disassembled Shahed drones, and why sanctions and supply restrictions don’t magically stop components from moving around. My main PSA is simple: be an ambassador to the hobby. Be friendly, pick your spots carefully, don’t fly alone if you can avoid it, and stay aware of your surroundings—because people are watching us more than ever. FPV is therapy for a lot of us, and I want to keep it where it belongs: in the hobby, not tied to paranoia or military narratives.
