Guys, in this video I’m breaking down RadioMaster’s brand-new ERS plug-and-play telemetry sensors, and I’m doing it “for dummies” style because this stuff is finally simple. The big deal here is these sensors work with the ER6 ELRS 2.4GHz PWM receiver, so you can add GPS, cell voltage, current, barometer altitude, and even tachometers to pretty much any RC aircraft (or RC car) that’s running PWM—no flight controller required. Years ago you had to solder a bunch of wires to a FC to get this kind of data. Now you just plug in a cable and you’re in business. What makes the ERS system really slick is the daisy-chain design. Add one sensor, then keep stacking more sensors in line using the extra port on the back of each module. And on radios like the TX15 or TX16S MK3, you can display the telemetry as widgets right on screen—latitude/longitude, ground speed, battery cell data, current draw, RPM, altitude, the whole nerdy dream setup. A couple key takeaways: the GPS sensor is coordinates and speed data only—don’t confuse it with Return to Home. Also, the GPS won’t show up in discovery until you’re outside and it gets a proper lock (home point turns blue). Everything is FCC certified too, so ordering shouldn’t turn into a customs headache.
