About This Video

Today on the channel I’m talking about the return of a legend: the RadioMaster TX16S, now in the TX16S MK3 (I’ve got the MAX version here). I break down what’s changed versus my original TX16S from years ago (with broken switches and all), and I compare it to the radios I’ve been flying lately like the Boxer and my current daily driver, the TX15. The MK3 is back with a bigger, sharper high‑resolution touchscreen, an H7 processor, CNC Hall gimbals (V6), upgraded loud speaker, SD support plus 4GB of built-in flash, and a redesigned SD area that won’t lose that little trap door. The big headline feature is the dual-band Gemini setup—simultaneous 2.4GHz and 900MHz with a dual antenna—plus built-in ExpressLRS (ELRS 3.6.3) and the ability to change antenna modes, link modes (including MAVLink), model matching, and TX power (up to around 1 watt). I also cover practical stuff like the huge battery bay and why I recommend the 2S 6200mAh pack (less charging), USB‑C that does charging/data/sim, swap-able switch panels (flat panel arm switch option), and the included case/accessories. Finally, I touch on the FCC “madness” we’ve been covering in drone news—good timing here because this radio shows an FCC logo on the box for US pilots. If you want a larger radio with more bells and whistles than the compact TX15, the TX16S MK3 is a seriously solid upgrade.
