About This Video

In this video I answer the question everybody was asking after Ken Heron’s Falcon Mini flight: is Ken an idiot… or is the Vcopter Falcon Mini really that messed up? I unboxed mine and did a true maiden—first battery, first time on the radio, first time in the app—and I screen-recorded everything so you can see exactly what happened. And let me be clear: Ken is not an idiot. I trust Ken, and I think he gave you his honest experience. This is just mine. Out of the box, my Falcon Mini lifted off easy and was rock steady, even before I calibrated the compass. The articulating arms/motors are wild to watch, and the video feed looked surprisingly good, especially for such a weird birotor “bumblebee” drone. I ran it in GPS/cinematic and sport mode, did some runway passes, tested orbit/selfie droney-style moves, and played with Return to Home. RTH worked (you do need a long-press on the controller), but “phone GPS homepoint” failed for me. Big takeaways: mine flew quiet, tracked well, and was almost impossible to see at distance—stealthy in a good way. But I did see a brief hands-off drift and I still think quality control/prototype batches explain why experiences vary. Also: use a proper USB-C data cable from the transmitter to your phone, or you’re setting yourself up for a bad time.
