About This Video

In today’s video I walk you through a full 2026 Betaflight setup for your FPV quad and your radio—step by step—so you can bind, arm, and fly safely on current Betaflight versions. I’m using the online Betaflight app in the browser (no downloads), because it keeps things simple and it stays up to date—refresh the page and you’re on the latest version. I also cover the #1 headache I see all the time: people can’t connect to the flight controller because they’re using the wrong USB cable. You need a real data cable, not a charge-only cable, or Betaflight will never talk to your quad. From there I create a clean model in EdgeTX, activate ELRS using CRSF, bind the receiver (the quick 3-plug battery method), and then set up your switches in the Mixes menu—ARM on CH5, modes on CH6, beeper on CH7, and GPS on CH8. Inside Betaflight I verify board orientation, check ports/UARTs, confirm stick direction and channel map (AETR vs other mappings), and set up Modes so your switches actually do something. I also show you how to enable GPS properly (and why “Allow arming without fix” should be OFF), verify satellites/packets, check motor direction safely with props off, and finish with OSD basics plus a CLI “dump” backup so you’re not starting from scratch later.
