About This Video

This is the very first meeting of my “Threads of Fiction” Sewing Book Club, and I’m so excited to finally bring it to the channel. In this video I’m chatting about our pick for the month, The Paris Dressmaker by Kristy Cambron, and what it’s like to read fiction that’s rooted in the world we love—garments, sewing, creativity, and the stories behind the clothes. If you’ve ever felt like sewing is more than just a hobby (because it absolutely is), this is the kind of book club that’s going to feel like home. I also share how our book club works: we read a sewing-themed work of fiction each month and then get together on Zoom on the third Saturday of every month to talk about it. And because I know we all love a plan, I tell you what we’re reading next: The Pattern Artist by Nancy Moser. If you want a fun, low-pressure way to stay connected to sewing even when you’re not at the machine—this is it. Grab the book, join the discussion, and come hang out with us.
