About This Video

In this video I walk you through the Burrito Method—one of my favorite ways to get a super clean finish when you’re sewing a lined bodice, yoke, or anything where you want those seams enclosed. If you’ve ever looked at a pattern step and thought, “Wait… how does that turn right-side-out?” this is for you. I show you the basic idea: you’re basically rolling the main fabric up like a little “burrito,” wrapping the lining around it, stitching, and then pulling everything through so the inside looks as tidy as the outside. I’m sharing this as a practical, confidence-boosting technique for newer sewists, but it’s also a great skill to have in your back pocket when you’re doing pattern reviews or sew-alongs and you want your finish to look professional. The big takeaway is to go slowly, keep your layers oriented correctly, and check that you’re catching the right pieces before you stitch. Once you do it a time or two, it stops feeling like magic and starts feeling like a really reliable method you’ll use again and again.
