1991 MTB Restomod – Commuter Bike Build from a Trash Find

In this video, I bring a 1991 Giant Rincon mountain bike back to life with a set of budget parts from Hycline — including new tires, tubes, a chain, and a 7-speed freewheel. The goal? Get this old MTB rolling again and see if it’s worth turning into a full commuter build. This is part 2 of my MTB restomod series, where I take a bike pulled from the trash and evaluate whether it's worth investing time and money into. With just $70 in parts, I was able to test fit, drivetrain performance, and ride comfort.
