About This Video

What’s up—Dillio coming to you. In this video I break down something that’s been low-key changing the way I create: turning the camera off. For a minute, I got to a point where the only time I was really making beats was on livestream, and that’s a problem. In this post-YouTube world there’s always pressure to crank out content, stay consistent, chase numbers, and keep people entertained—but before any of that, I’m an artist and a producer first. When I leave the camera off, it removes distractions I didn’t even realize were draining me—worrying about lighting, audio levels, “dead air,” and what the “experts” in the comments are gonna say. It also helps me stop filtering my creativity through other people’s opinions like “it sounds like this person” or “mix it this way.” With the camera off, it’s just me and my MPC/FL/Studio One, and I can make more mistakes, experiment more, and get back to that private, joyful space where the groove actually happens. If you’ve been feeling spread thin, try it—turn the camera off and create for you.
