In this video I’m showing you step by step how to set up Arturia Vocoder V inside Fender Studio Pro 8 so you can actually hear it working in real time and record it for your sessions. Before you even start, I need you to have two things handled: you already know how to connect your MIDI controller to Fender Studio, and you already know how to set up your microphone input in Fender Studio. If those two pieces aren’t right, the vocoder setup won’t make sense. Also, I’m on a Mac Studio M4 Max with an Apollo Twin over Thunderbolt, so your results may vary depending on your system. From there I walk you through the exact workflow: create a Vocoder V instrument track, switch the plugin to Voice mode, then hit Side Chain and choose the mic input you already set up. Once you’re hearing that vocoder “sibilance” and it’s reacting, I show you how to record it: create a stereo audio track, open the Inspector, and set the input to Vocoder V so you can print the effect while you perform. I also point out a Fender Studio quirk—sometimes you’ll only see one waveform while recording, but if you expand the track you’ll see both stereo files being rendered.
