About This Video

In this live session I’m knocking out Beat 80 and Beat 81 for my #100beatchallenge, and I’m basically just slapping it together in real time—letting the swing do what it do and not overthinking it. The vibe for this one turns into an MJ-style pocket (yeah… “This is Michael Jackson reminding you to like, comment, and subscribe” is in full effect), and I’m leaning into that classic feel even if I’m not sitting here “over the moon” about every single sound choice. Sometimes the mission is momentum, not perfection. I also talk about the whole “people will say this is AI” thing—so let me be clear: I’m clicking in the notes, there ain’t no prompt. I’m just joking because that’s where the internet goes now. We also get into mindset stuff: how I used to be picky about sounds, how certain collab/workflow situations were “fun until it wasn’t,” and why I’d rather just make the track than go back and forth online. Two more beats down, math check on what’s left, and we close it out positive—reflect on one small thing you can do tomorrow to improve your life. I’m doing the same.
