This video is basically a chaotic (and very real) dev road trip through France with four of my developer friends. We kick things off with the most important French vocabulary (baguette, obviously), then I try to “end it on a high note” with some motion/design talk while we drive around, explore, and just vibe. Since we’re literally in France, we also chat about why French developers are so good—Raphaël blames the school system… and also the baguettes. We also get into a classic developer debate: what IDE you code in. I talk about moving from JetBrains to VS Code, while Conrad did the exact opposite, and then the conversation devolves into punch cards, pigeons, Vim, and “shouting 0s and 1s” like absolute clowns. The rest of the day is us trying to find a place to stay (our only requirement: fluffy chickens), dealing with Conrad feeling sick, and then temporarily losing both friends and the car in an underground parking garage. We end the night with the chickens asleep and me realizing that petting fluffy chickens is somehow the perfect way to close a dev road trip day.
