About This Video

I’m back on the channel, and I wanted to come back with something I genuinely love doing: reacting to insanely talented engineers and designers on the internet—through their personal portfolios. I also share why I’ve been gone: I lost my beloved father, and I had to go through open heart surgery. It’s a lot to drop at the start, but I’m here again, I’m excited to be back, and this video is basically a big dose of inspiration if you’re building your own site. We go through four very different portfolio styles. First, Jay Clark’s super minimal one-pager—clean, simple, and focused—plus a nice contrast switch and some tasteful CSS page separation that I had to inspect. Then Airborne Studio goes the complete opposite direction with playful motion, cursor-driven 3D objects, strong on-scroll sections, and that “huge footer” trend that’s becoming a thing. Thomas Lossie brings a really creative folder metaphor with draggable files (seriously cool), even though I hit an application error while filming. And we finish with Wodniack.dev—creative developer energy at its best: terminal-style loading jokes, constant animation, depth/perspective tricks, and a site that feels like a movie.
