OpenAI recently came out with an AI text generator called ChatGPT, that absolutely kills the market of blog writers. It generates amazingly coherent text - and gives you beautiful summaries of topics that you requested. But how good does it do with coding? Especially creative coding? About This Video

ChatGPT just dropped, and it’s one of those “this is actually magical” moments. In this video I put it to the test—not for blog writing (because yeah, it’s already insanely good at that), but for coding. Specifically: creative coding in p5.js. I wanted to see if it can generate visuals and animations the way a real creative dev would, and whether it can understand small tweaks and art-direction style prompts. I start simple by asking it to code a sunset in p5.js. It spits out full code in seconds, which is honestly wild—something that could take a p5.js dev a chunk of time to write. But when I run it, it’s basically a static scene, so I push it: make the sun “set” from east to west. It updates the code, but the behavior isn’t quite what I meant (it ends up moving left-to-right). From there I try more prompts—two stickmen with tiny swords (spoiler: not impressive), and then a simple tree. The tree works, but the “add colors” upgrade is pretty basic. The takeaway: ChatGPT is fast and coherent, but for creative coding it still needs a lot of guidance—and it’s definitely not replacing developers today.
