About This Video

In this video I’m reacting to six absolutely incredible 3D personal portfolios, and the goal is simple: shine the spotlight on talented web devs and hopefully inspire you to build something that feels alive. I jump through each site, call out the little UX details that make them special (scroll prompts, hover states, light/dark toggles, animations that follow your cursor), and I keep saying it because it’s true—there’s so much attention to detail in these builds that you can learn a ton just by exploring. We start with joshuas.world, which is basically a cute, story-driven map you drag through, with lighting that actually illuminates sections in dark mode. Then Hamish’s site hits you with that clean minimal vibe plus a 3D MacBook that tracks your mouse. Ryo’s portfolio is super dark and minimal, but with a really nice image distortion effect on hover—plus a signature animation style I’m literally planning to tutorial soon. Giulio’s site is a full-on experience with music and a super fun trick where vertical scrolling transitions into horizontal project scrolling. And then Dustin… Dustin made a Windows desktop in the browser (yes, with Paint, right-click, and even games). We wrap with bryantcodes.art—wild colors, draggable elements, and insanely smooth project transitions. Go leave these creators some love in the comments, seriously.
