About This Video

If you asked me what I’d change about my solo startup so far, I’d honestly tell you: I’d change everything. I got obsessed with the end product and pixel-perfect UI, and I loved building it so much that I basically made no real progress. I built beautiful login and signup flows, but I never got past authentication—meanwhile the actual value (payments, video streaming, course experience) was still miles away. The big lesson I learned (and something my CEO keeps drilling into me) is: done is better than perfect. Your MVP has to exist first, because that’s the cornerstone that lets you start making money and then iterate. In this update, I show my new MVP plan in Figma and how I’m speeding everything up with low-code/no-code where it makes sense. For auth, I’m planning to use an existing provider (Auth0, Clerk, SuperTokens) with social login or passwordless to avoid fake users. For payments, I’m going straight to a simple Stripe Checkout. For authorization (paid user access), I’m using Permit.io to manage roles and policies. And for on-demand video streaming, I’ll use Mux so it’s basically plug-and-play. Then I talk marketing—especially inbound marketing—and how creating valuable content can pull in your first organic clients through search and a simple funnel.
