In this video I’m sharing a simple “two product evening” that I tested using a glycolic liquid plus a retinol body butter, and I’ll be honest about how my skin reacted. I apply enough in my hands and work it over my arms, legs, and body—and I even tried it on my face. The next day I noticed that tightening/dry feeling, and I did get a little itchy after applying it, so this combo is definitely strong. The reason I still liked the experience is because the areas where I deal with eczema actually looked calmer and less irritated, which is a big win for me in Arizona weather. To help balance the dryness, I layered castor oil under my eyes, used my serum, and then sealed everything in with tallow (I prefer tallow over adding more oil). On my face, though, it felt like too much, so I’d be more careful there next time and focus on extra hydration so I don’t feel so tight afterward. I also show my quick hair routine alongside skincare—two leave-in conditioners after rinsing, towel wrap while I do skincare, then hairspray, blow dry, and a bonnet for bed. And yes, sunscreen is non-negotiable every day, even when it’s cloudy.
