In Part 8 of my 2025 recap/review, I’m sharing a bunch of those random-but-memorable moments that made me stop and actually feel the year. I talk about seeing a famous person from the movie Black Phone (and yes, if you squint on Instagram you can kind of see me), my little dandelion obsession (minor one, okay), and even an adorable little spider sighting. I also share small life snippets like my first trick-or-treat of the year (I only got a Laffy Taffy), browsing Native Books for gifts, and catching a rainbow after it rained where I was. I also sprinkle in the real-life stuff: broken nails (it’s bound to happen), getting ready for a party celebration, and how the performance was amazing but long enough that people left because they were hungry or needed to go. I show the outfit I settled for with my native jewelry—bracelets and beaded rings—and I mention watching a weird-but-interesting movie moment that had people asking, “What happened?” On the hair and skin side, I’m honest about wishing I hadn’t washed my hair right before styling, plus you can literally see how dehydrated my skin was and how badly I needed hydration (and maybe exfoliation). I end it with my skin journey updates—pimple patches, overdoing Vaseline (less is more, I have to remind myself), and how nails can be the culprit when you scratch—then, as always: embrace joy.
