The Only Archery Shops I Use Now : And Why Others Lost My Business

20.1K views· 245 likes· 18:54· Jan 3, 2026

In this video, I show exactly where I get all of my archery equipment and why. I break down the main archery shops and companies I regularly use, what they do well, and why I continue to support them. I also explain—honestly and fairly—why I no longer purchase from certain other shops, based on real experiences over time. This isn’t sponsored, and no shop asked for this video. It’s simply an experienced archer sharing what actually works when it comes to buying gear, getting advice, and being looked after as a customer. Whether you’re new to archery or have been shooting for years, knowing where to spend your money matters just as much as what equipment you buy. About This Video

In this video I walk you through the only archery shops (and a couple of other sources) I actually use now, and why. It’s not sponsored and nobody asked me to do it—I’m just sharing what’s worked for me over years of buying gear, from starting out in the UK to getting properly back into archery here in New Zealand. My big thing is simple: if a shop says something is in stock, it should actually be in stock, and if it isn’t, I want to know up front with a realistic timeline. I talk about ordering from Archery Supplies in Adelaide (Steven Han) because their online stock is accurate—how many are left, when it’s out of stock, the lot—and they carry pretty much everything I need. I also recommend Oakland Archery Supply (Richard Lynn) for New Zealand shooters because the communication is solid and shipping has been genuinely fast for me, sometimes within two days. I also explain why I’ve stopped using some other NZ shops without naming them: letting you pay for items they don’t have, then making you wait months, is just not on. On top of shops, I cover going straight to manufacturers like NIKA (great value limbs and kit), and I show how I’m making more of my own archery gear in the workshop—3D printed grips, arm guards, alignment blocks, quiver separators, plus making my own recurve strings. Bottom line: spend your money where you’re looked after, and keep shooting—because that’s the only way you get better.
