In this week’s video I take you through my actual shoot at the NZ Masters Games over both days of competition. I show how the event went, how I shot across the weekend, and give an honest look at my performance during the competition. You’ll see the ups, the downs, and what the whole experience was like from my point of view on the shooting line. This is the follow-up to my NZMG trip video, and this time it’s all about the archery itself. About This Video

In this video I take you through my actual shoot at the New Zealand Masters Games in Dunedin—both days, warts and all. It’s the follow-up to my trip video, but this time it’s all about what happened on the shooting line: how the event ran, how I handled the pressure, and an honest look at my performance. I was shooting my Topoint Reliance (after swapping to new strings) with Pandarus Ice Point arrows, and I’ll talk through what worked, what didn’t, and what I came away with. Day one was a “creeping round” (first time I’d even heard of it), basically a mini 1440: 144 arrows across four distances. I break down my score sheet and consistency—plenty of good ends, but also a few frustrating 8s and too many 9s where I should’ve cleaned it up. I ended up with silver, and also picked up a second silver for Champion of Champions across age groups (I’m in the 50+). Day two was the fun shoot… and it was absolute chaos in the best way—random scoring rules, reverse scoring, giving scores away—proper crapshoot stuff. I didn’t win it, but I had a brilliant time and I’d 100% go again.
