Thinking about getting into target compound archery, but not keen on spending $2,500+ on a flagship bow? Fair enough. This week I break down three realistic and affordable ways to start shooting compound without draining your bank account. In this video I review and shoot: 🎯 Junxing Phoenix ($200 NZD) A true entry-level budget bow that gets you shooting right away. 🎯 Second-Hand Bowtech ($800 NZD) A quality branded bow at a fraction of the price if you buy used. 🎯 Topoint Reliance Pro ($800 NZD) A brand-new Chinese target bow with specs that rival the big names. I also run through the essential peripherals you’ll need to get started, including: • Arrow rest • Sight • Scope • The bare-minimum accessories to shoot safely and effectively If you're looking for a budget compound setup, want to avoid overspending on your first bow, or you’re curious how these options stack up on the range, this video will point you in the right direction. 👉 If you enjoyed this video, don't forget to: 👍 Like the video to support the channel 💬 Leave a comment with your tips or experiences 🔔 Subscribe and turn on notifications to never miss an update Let’s grow together as better archers! 🏹 👉 Follow us on social media for updates: If you're an archer looking to take your shooting game to the next level, this review is for you! 🏹 Don’t forget to like, share, and follow for more archery gear reviews, tips, and shooting techniques! About This Video

In this video I break down three realistic ways to start target compound archery without dropping flagship-bow money. I’m talking sub-$1,000 NZD setups that actually get you shooting, and I shot all three bows at 10m with my Easton InArrow 3.2mm arrows just to compare feel, draw cycle, and how they group when you “lob it together” with budget accessories. First up is the Junxing Phoenix: a super cheap cast-riser target bow that’ll get you on the line for roughly $115–$150 USD for the bare bow (and not much more if you go bargain-bin on peripherals). It works, but the cable slide sticks and the draw feels clunkier, plus there’s a big thud on release. Next is the second-hand branded route (I used a Bowtech Specialist 2). For more money you get a proper machined riser, a better draw cycle, less noise, and noticeably tighter groups—if the bow’s in good nick and the strings aren’t cooked. Finally, I show the “new but still budget” option: the Topoint Reliance Pro. Yes, it’s Chinese, and yes, it’s genuinely underrated—smooth draw, dead in the hand, forgiving, and it’s already won me a comp. The takeaway is simple: start where your budget and commitment level make sense, then shoot heaps—because that’s the only way you’ll actually get better.
