About This Video

I finally got my new archery workshop to a point where it’s actually usable — and because I managed to lose half the audio the first time, I’m doing the tour properly again. The space is small (about 3x4m), but it’s big enough to cover everything I need: bow maintenance, arrow building, gear testing, and a bunch of DIY projects. I’ll walk you through how I split the garage up with a non-structural wall, why I laid the space out the way I did, and what’s still a work in progress. The main “nook” is now my arrow production area with my fletching jigs, burner for points, and arrow storage tubes (and yes, I’ve already found a jig that doesn’t fit in the nook because the arrows need to go up). I’ve also got a solid storage setup for points, pins, nocks, fletchings and rests, plus a big bench where I’ve mounted my bow press and keep my bow vice close by for compound work. I’ve set up a TV/computer area for editing, a whiteboard for video ideas, and I’ve even got the lighting sorted with LEDs and puck lights so I can actually see what I’m doing. Big win: the garage is dry again thanks to a sump pump after the Kaikōura earthquake shifted the water table. Next up, I’m still figuring out limb storage, stabilizer storage, and I’ve got a laser engraver project on the go that might turn into wooden medals (or even an arrow-drying rack).
