About This Video

In this video I run through five cheap-but-invaluable archery tools that I reckon every shooter should own. We all talk about risers, limbs, arrows and releases, but the stuff that saves your day at the range is usually the little tools you chuck in your bag. I’m mainly aiming this at recurve archers (ILF/Formula especially), but most of it applies to compound as well. My number one pick is a bow square (T-square/F-square) because it lets you keep your setup consistent: brace height, tiller, and nocking point. I also cover why I always carry Allen keys (both metric and imperial, because manufacturers love to mix it up), plus bow wax to keep your string healthy and more water-resistant when you’re shooting in the rain. Then there’s the arrow puller—this is a safety thing as much as a convenience thing, especially with carbon arrows and tight foam targets. Finally, for the recurve crew, I show limb alignment blocks for checking and correcting limb/string alignment, including cheap options and the 3D-printed ones I make. These are perfect little stocking fillers too—cheap, light, and genuinely useful.
