Smashburgers on the Kamado Joe Soapstone! Pit Patriots!

We show how we did Wagyu smashburgers on the KJ Soapstone. Seasoned with Pit Patriot’s All Purpose Seasoning and topped off with the Golden Ale Mustard! • Started with ½ pound Wagyu ground beef from Costco. • Set up the Kamado Joe for direct with the Soapstone on the top level on top of a grate to protect from breaking during the smash. • Let the KJ come up to around 400 degrees and the Soapstone was about 450. • Made a few strips of our home made bacon to top the burger. • Once the bacon was close to done, place the 2 1/4 lb balls on the Soapstone and smashed them holding for about 10 seconds to keep the shape. • Added some Pit Patriot’s All Purpose Seasoning. • Once the edges looked right, we flipped them and added some more seasoning. • Added cheese near the end and pulled them off the grill. • When building we added Pit Patriot Golden Ale Mustard. Summary: The Soapstone worked perfectly and the smashburgers were great. The Pit Patriots seasoning always enhances the flavor and the Golden Ale Mustard really had a nice flavor! These did shrink a little more than normal, but the Wagyu has a good amount of fat content.
