5 Year YouTube Anniversary! Tomahawks on the Kamado Joe Big Joe!

Hard to believe it has been 5 years since we started the YouTube channel! We did 2 perfect tomahawks on the KJ and seared on the soapstone! • Started with 2 nice Prime Tomahawks from Costco. • Seasoned the 2 tomahawks with kosher salt only 24 hours in advance. • Set up the Kamado Joe to run at 250 degrees with one side indirect and the other side had the soapstone. It stabilized around 260 for the warming process. • Placed the tomahawks on the indirect side until we reached about 80 degrees and then turned them over to promote even cooking until 113. • Pulled them off and opened the vents on the KJ to get the temps up. We had the KJ running around 600+ degrees to get the soapstone up in the 600 degree area. • Seared on the soapstone for 1 minute each side 2 times and removed them. • Let them rest for about 10 to 15 minutes before cutting into them. Summary: This was where our channel started using the Kamado Joe Big Joe and have since added multiple grills over the past 5 years.
