The Intel LGA 1851 socket didn't last long, only covering the Arrow Lake-based Intel Core Ultra 200 and Intel Core Ultra 300 series CPUs! A new socket is already on the horizon for Intel Nova Lake CPUs, that being LGA 1954! About This Video

In this video I break down what we know (almost) everything about Intel’s next big desktop generation: Nova Lake, which Intel is reportedly calling Core Ultra 400. And no, you didn’t miss a generation—Intel’s jumping from 200 to 400 because “300” was basically reserved for laptops, which is… yeah, can we not do this again, please? I go over the platform shake-up too, because LGA 1851 looks like it’s getting a pretty short life, and a new socket (LGA 1954) is already on the horizon. On the specs side, the leaks are getting spicy: native memory support up to 8000 MT/s (even if most of us aren’t trying to spend our retirement savings on RAM), plus broader support for newer memory formats. I also cover the rumored SKU stack—around 13 chips total—ranging from Core Ultra 3 parts with just 2 P-cores + 4 LP E-cores, all the way up to potential “Core Ultra X” flagships with up to 52 cores across two dies. The big takeaway: there should be something for most budgets, but you’ll likely need a new motherboard, and high-core monsters may require specific boards/chipsets due to power demands. Release timing looks like late 2026, so Computex is probably too early for official Nova Lake info.
