But for once, Microsoft has basically acknowledged the mess and put out a concrete list of changes that genuinely looks promising. The big headline is that they’re scaling back Copilot integrations—keeping it where it makes sense, and pulling it out of random places like Snipping Tool, Photos, Widgets, and Notepad (which I didn’t even realize had Copilot, and I still don’t know why it would). They’re also calling out File Explorer performance and reliability as a target, which is huge because it’s been slow and buggy for a lot of people. On top of that, they’re bringing back some classic features like moving the taskbar to any edge of the screen, and they’re reworking how Windows Insider channels and feedback collection work—because I’m genuinely curious how they filter the Feedback Hub chaos into anything useful.
