About This Video

Welcome to my new home office. In this video I do a full makeover + desk setup tour of the space where I spend a lot of time trying to show up online while balancing my full-time software job here in Australia. I’m the type of person who genuinely thrives when a room is both functional and aesthetic, so I walk you through what changed, why I chose each piece, and how I’m trying to keep the whole setup feeling open, light, and cohesive. The biggest upgrade is the modular shelving system behind me: wall-mounted tracks with shelves that you can reconfigure whenever you feel like changing things up (which is… me). I went with stainless steel because it looks super premium and feels really solid, but it does pick up dust and fingerprints easily. I also share what I’m putting on the shelves (a mix of storage + decor), why I’m intentionally not filling everything yet, and how I want items to have actual stories—like my clock from my first solo trip and magazines/books I picked up in Japan. From there I get into the desk setup: downsizing from a chunky standing desk to a smaller 140x70cm white desk with IKEA legs to better integrate with the shelving. I keep the desktop minimal for focus, run a one-cable MacBook-to-monitor setup, and talk through lighting (natural + lamps + Hue backlighting) to set the tone and reduce eye strain. I wrap up with the Desky low-back chair, why it matches the palette, and what I’m still figuring out in the empty space next to the desk.
