About This Video

Yo, what is up guys — in this one I’m back at home doing some small-space house updates, because I’ve been living in this place for about 1.5–2 years now and I’m still missing a few basics (yes… still no bar stools, still no coffee table). The big theme is: when you live in a fairly small home, you have to be way more conscious about organization, otherwise everything just turns into clutter and chores feel way more annoying than they need to be. I start by extending my coffee bar area with a String pocket shelf setup (mine’s a dupe because the real one is like $400 and yeah… I can’t afford that). I talk about the little details too, like the shelf panels being slightly different whites because the paint is thin, so I ended up painting some of it and will probably repaint later. Then I fix my laundry situation with a new two-section hamper (it was expensive at $115, but I used credit card points so it was about $40 out of pocket) and add an IKEA wall cupboard to build storage vertically. That vertical storage change honestly became a game changer — it reduces that “friction” feeling when you walk into a messy space, and now everything has a place (vacuum tucked away, mop and bucket hidden, and the whole area just feels way more alleviating).
