Canvas can feel really tricky as an elementary art teacher—especially because it’s not super user-friendly for teachers or younger students. In this video, I share how I actually use Canvas now that we’re fully back in person. I’m not walking you through the full setup from scratch (so if you’re brand new, this isn’t a “start here” tutorial), but I am showing the parts I rely on so you can steal ideas and adapt them for your own art room. I talk through the practical ways I keep Canvas working for me as a specials teacher: what I post, why I post it, and how I keep things simple enough for kids to navigate. I also explain how Canvas was helpful during virtual learning, and at 8:40 I show what my Canvas use looked like during that first year we implemented it. My goal is to help you see what’s realistic for elementary art—what’s worth your time, what’s not, and how to use Canvas as a support instead of letting it become one more overwhelming thing on your plate.
