In this video I tested the celimax The Vita-A Retinal 0.1% Shot Booster Treatment (retails for $24) and shared my first impressions plus my thoughts after using it consistently over a short trial window. I’ve gotten a ton of requests to try this one, and since I’m a big fan of retinaldehyde (and I’ve been getting more into booster-style treatments), I wanted to focus on the big questions: does it cause sensitivity, how does it feel on the skin, and what do I notice early on? The formula is vegan, cruelty-free, fragrance-free, alcohol-free, and comes in recyclable packaging, with retinal (0.1%) alongside niacinamide and panthenol for a more balanced, soothing feel. Texture-wise, it’s lightweight, dries down easily, and “blends down to nothing” without leaving a heavy finish. Even on first application, I didn’t get tingling or that “booster shot” sensation I’ve felt with stronger shot-style products, and I found a little goes a long way—so I didn’t over-apply. Over the trial, it stayed extremely gentle and I was able to use it nightly without sensitivity. Results-wise, I’m not treating this like a long-term anti-aging proof test, but I did notice faster improvements in skin texture and subtle help with discoloration; I’ll be continuing to use it to see what shows up with more time.
