About This Video

In this video I’m trialing and reviewing the Bloomeffects Black Tulip Regenerative Brightening Serum, which is a $89 splurge treatment and one of their bestsellers. I wanted to try it alongside the brand’s Milky Toner order, and I went into this review really focused on the ingredient list vs. the price. It’s vegan, cruelty-free, fragrance-free, alcohol-free, and comes in recyclable packaging—and on paper it’s packed with brightening peptides, copper peptides, and a lot of skin-supporting ingredients. During my check-ins, the biggest things I paid attention to were the finish, how it felt on my acne-prone skin, and whether it would cause breakouts. The texture is super lightweight and watery with a silky slip, and it doesn’t leave much of a finish—if anything, it feels like it smooths the skin and gives a really good base for whatever you apply next. By the end of my trial (closer to a month), I noticed my skin felt less dry, looked more radiant, and seemed calmer—especially with winter dullness and redness from acne. I can’t fully “testify” to anti-aging results in this timeframe, but I do think this is a rare expensive serum that’s actually worth it if you want one product that covers hydration, soothing, barrier support, and brightening in a more complex formula.
