This was my first stream back, and of course we kicked it off the most scientific way possible: playing 0 A.D. with the boys and immediately getting bullied by Linux audio. We spent a good chunk of the start just trying to get everybody into the multiplayer lobby, remember logins, and not get demonetized in the first five minutes. Derek was fighting his setup, we were roasting each other’s distro choices (yes, Arch), and I was reminding people you can save your 0 A.D. config folder so you don’t have to remember your password every time you reinstall. Once we actually got in-game, it turned into a “wait, what changed in the new version?” kind of night. We talked about civ balance changes (fire cav got nerfed), weird new civ tech/hero stuff, and the usual RTS basics like grabbing the woodcutting and farming upgrades early. I also got stuck with the Britons—aka the civ I didn’t want—so it was war dogs, too many houses, and me trying to be annoying if I couldn’t be good. The big takeaway: 0 A.D. is still a blast with friends, but Linux audio plus game setups will humble you fast.
