I made a repository for my dotfiles and a guide for how I configure my OpenBSD system. I primarily use OpenBSD on my Thinkpad T440p laptop. I wanted to let you guys know about it and hopefully it will help those of you interested in OpenBSD. This is also the first video I edited with my own script instead of a video editor like Kdenlive or Davinci. Please let me know what you think in the comments! About This Video

In this video I walk through how I set up OpenBSD as my daily driver, specifically on my ThinkPad T440p, and I’m finally putting everything in one place: my OpenBSD dotfiles repo plus a full “from fresh install to my setup” guide in the README. I go over the early base-system stuff I always do right after install—setting up doas, disabling the beep, and (because it’s a ThinkPad) disabling the touchpad so I can just use the TrackPoint and buttons. From there I get into the practical laptop tweaks: kernel options, power management, bumping resource limits, adding my user to staff, and a few performance-oriented bits like disk improvements. I also talk about where my desktop is headed: XenoDM is in the repo but not finished yet, and I’m still in the process of uploading my ST/DWM configs and tying everything together. One of the big takeaways is how I keep things slim—like getting “transparency” effects in ST without running a compositor, using the ST background image patch and my own small utilities to generate blurred/blended wallpaper assets that match my terminal color scheme. And yeah, this is also the first video I edited using my own scripting workflow instead of Kdenlive/DaVinci, so I’m curious how it feels on your end.
