Yeah, this one’s a bit of a “2:00 AM, please forgive everything” update, but I needed to get it out because my ZaneyOS (NixOS flake) setup has genuinely gotten better since the last install video. The big headline: the README is completely revamped and it’s way more useful now. I’m answering the stuff people ask me constantly (like how I handle packages), and I’m also calling out a major change—my “stable” branch is gone. That sounds scary, but it’s not a bad thing, and I explain why, plus how I’m handling updates going forward. I also added an install script. Right now it’s basic and mostly covers the “you must change this or it won’t work” pieces, plus a few extras so the config fits your machine out of the gate. I’m planning to expand it with a bunch more options. On the docs side, I’m not in love with GitLab wiki management, so I’m moving the wiki over to my website where I can host proper docs and make it look (and feel) better. Finally, I show a small but super practical desktop change: I replaced a Waybar network speed module with a keybind viewer for Hyprland. It’s not perfect yet (it won’t auto-reflect custom changes), but it’s already more useful day-to-day. I also talk about pushing harder toward making this full-time: more scheduled videos, early access for members, reworked Patreon tiers, longer NixOS course-style content, and more streaming focused on live ZaneyOS development.
