I got a surprise drop on my doorstep and yep—this is the Google Pixel 4 XL. In this video I do a full unboxing, show everything that comes in the package, and give you my first hands-on impressions of the design, the feel in the hand, and the changes coming from the Pixel 3 XL/3a XL. Google also included a letter in the box (I’ll read it later), but I know everyone’s here for the phone—so we get straight into it. Inside, you’re getting the usual essentials: SIM ejector tool, USB-C to USB-C cable, a USB-A to USB-C adapter, and a USB-C wall charger (rated 5V/3A). I also show off the official Pixel 4 XL fabric-style case, which feels softer than last year’s and has that orange-accented power button that looks super clean. The big win for me: I got the white model, and that frosted glass back with the matte black rails feels crazy satisfying and should handle fingerprints way better than the older glossy finish. After booting up, I point out a major change: the fingerprint reader is gone, so you’re relying on face unlock. Setup felt a bit slower than iPhone, but real-world speed will be in my full review. I also compare the size and front design—smaller chin, rounded corners, and I’ll take that forehead over a notch any day.
