In this video I’m reviewing the Samsung CRG9 super ultrawide, and yeah… it’s an absolute monster of a monitor. Samsung didn’t send me this—I bought it with my own money—so I’ve got nothing to gain or lose here. I spend about 80% of my time on this thing editing and creating content, and the other 20% gaming, so the focus is mainly productivity. Coming from a 34-inch ultrawide, the CRG9 still shocked me when I first saw it in person. It’s basically two 27-inch monitors side by side without that annoying bezel in the middle, and it can be almost too big if your desk (and space) isn’t ready for it. Once it’s set up, it’s straight eye candy and instantly becomes the centerpiece of your desk setup. The 5120x1440 resolution, subtle curve, and 120Hz refresh rate make everything feel snappy—scrolling, window movement, all of it. For editing, my timeline stretches for days, and I can keep Premiere Pro, Lumetri, effects, footage, and even Photoshop split-screen comfortably. I do wish there was a bit more vertical space at times, but I’ll take the insane horizontal room any day. For gaming, 32:9 is transformative if your GPU can push it, but when a game doesn’t support ultrawide, the giant black bars can really kill the vibe. Overall though, if you edit or do anything with a linear timeline, the CRG9 is a beast of a tool—and I genuinely think once you use a display like this, it’s hard to go back.
