About This Video

Before you do anything on your Galaxy S20, S20+ or S20 Ultra, I’m telling you right now: turn on that 120Hz refresh rate. Out of the box Samsung leaves it at 60Hz (probably to stretch battery), but 120Hz is the best damn feature on this phone. I walk you through exactly where to go—Settings > Display > Motion smoothness—so you can flip it to High and instantly make the whole phone feel smoother. After that, I get into cleaning up the look of One UI, because the stock layout and icons… yeah, it blows complete d—. I show you how I tweak things without needing a third-party launcher (so you don’t lose gestures). We turn on Dark Mode, swap to smaller icons through Themes, and change your grid from 4x5 to a tighter 5x6 so everything looks way more modern and less like Fisher-Price. I also show you how to kill that Samsung Daily screen when you swipe right. Then we finish strong with navigation: I recommend full-screen gestures to free up screen real estate, and I throw in a bonus one-hand tip—enable “Swipe down for notification panel” so you can pull notifications down from anywhere on the home screen. Quick changes, huge quality-of-life upgrade.
