In this video I walk you through installing front crash bars on my Triumph Trophy SE, step by step. Honestly, this is something I should’ve done back in 2017 when I bought the bike brand new, because I used to tell myself, “you’re never going to drop it.” Guess what? I did—twice—once on each side, and I ended up with damage on both panniers (or “piers” as some people say). So if you tour, commute, or motocamp and you want real protection without something that looks intrusive, this is a solid upgrade. I don’t spend time showing Tupperware removal (that’s a whole video on its own), but I do show the tools you’ll need and the key mounting points. Everything is metric—Triumph tradition—plus I show you the gauge blocks that came with the kit so you can set the cross bar position correctly before you put all the bodywork back on. Once the bike is back together, the front bars are the easy part: two attachment points, a little rubber mallet persuasion to create space, washers in the right spot, and then tighten everything down. When it’s done, the bars stick out just enough to do their job, and on my black Trophy you can barely even see them unless you’re looking for them.
