About This Video

Hello my friends, my name is Eddie and in this video I’m showing you, step by step, how I replace the front disc brake pads on my Triumph Trophy SE. For the benefit of saving time I only do one side on camera, because the other side is exactly the same—but the big takeaway is: don’t replace just one side. Buy two sets and do both calipers so your braking stays balanced. I’m using EBC Double-H pads, and I’ll walk you through the basic tools (5 mm Allen, 13 mm socket, torque wrench, rags, brush, cleaner/soapy water) and the order I like to do things so it’s simple and safe. I also show you the little details that matter: take pictures if it’s your first time, loosen the pad pins/bolts while the caliper is still mounted (way easier for leverage), and don’t let the caliper hang and strain the hydraulic hose—I zip-tie it up so there’s zero tension. Cleaning is a huge part of this job. I clean around the pistons first, then push them back in (otherwise you can push dirt into the caliper). In my case the pads wore unevenly, which is a good clue the pistons weren’t moving freely—another reason I don’t skip the cleaning. Be good, be safe, and let’s keep the rubber side down.
