Stop-and-go traffic jams are one of the most dangerous places I can put myself on a motorcycle—especially where lane filtering isn’t allowed. I’m constantly checking my mirrors, leaving myself an escape route, and trying to keep space around me… but I still want one more layer of defense: grabbing a driver’s attention before they turn me into a hood ornament. That’s why in this video I install the HealTech Brake Light Flasher Pro (BLP) on my Triumph Trophy SE. It’s a simple modulator that flashes your brake light in different patterns to help reduce the likelihood of getting rear-ended. I walk through the install step-by-step and I’ll be honest: wiring on British bikes can be absolutely nuts. The big takeaway is don’t assume wire colors match—know your bike’s wiring before you cut anything. On my Trophy SE, the brake positive was blue, so I spliced that and tied in the HealTech red/green correctly (green toward the bulb, red after), and black to ground. Once it was in, I tested the programmable modes and ran through what each one does. It worked great on the bike, and for about 60 bucks Canadian I’m pretty thrilled. My “holy grail” wish was to have it flash on my Lees-Ure Lite pop-up trailer too—but even though the trailer lights worked, the flasher pattern didn’t carry over. Still, on the motorcycle itself, it’s a solid visibility upgrade.
